KS3 & 4 Slavery resource for Schools

CMS in conjunction with the Citizenship Foundation has
produced a FREE resource for citizenship, history and RE
(KS3/KS4). Downloadable material and audio-visual support
is also available at www.cms-uk.org/endingslavery
The resource contains seven active lessons emphasising the
role and motivations played by citizens from all sectors of
society and the slaves themselves in refusing to endure any
longer the evil slave trade.
Commendations include:
• Ending Slavery – 'A clear and helpful teaching tool. A
welcomed contribution. Highly recommended.' Lassell Hylton, Chair, Black
History Foundation
• Ending Slavery has any number of positive features to recommend itself to
secondary teachers … It is the lessons relating to the campaigning tactics of
the Anti-Slavery International movement where this resource makes its most
distinctive contribution.' Peter Brett, historian and lecturer in citizenship, Saint
Martin's College.
